Customer Care
The tables and lazy susans have been built to provide you with a lifetime of service and pleasure in a casual living environment. The marble and other stones that are used are hard and will not be easily marred by you, your children, or pets. The surfaces are treated with a commercial grade stone and grout sealer, so water and other liquids will tend to bead and run off. With interior use this sealer should provide you with years of service. With exterior use you may need to reseal the table ever year or so to maintain optimum protection. Please remember that some of the stones are very porous, therefore spills should be wiped up immediately; water is not a problem. You can use these tables outdoors as well as indoors, but they should be protected from freezing. The lazy susans weigh about 12 pounds, light enough to easily carried and not be an issue for use on a glass topped table. They provide a good stable base for a large serving platter or flower arrangement. The larger table tops are a bit heavier, about 6 pounds per square foot., but manageable. About 24# for a two foot square end table. You should lift a tabletop by grasping it around and under its edge. You can store the table on its edge, but should place a piece of rigid foam or carpet under it to avoid scratching or chipping. Even though the tabletops are quite strong, you should never sit or stand on them as it may cause cracking. If you need to transport the table top in your car, it is best to rest it flat on a soft cushion to avoid edge loading. Routine cleaning is best achieved with dry dusting or a wipe with a damp cloth. You can use a mild detergent if a more thorough cleaning is needed. Severe stains such as ink can often be removed with a solvent like acetone. Bleach can also be used as a last resort, but should be rinsed away with a lot of water. Shipping of the tables by commercial carrier is straightforward. Tables that are two feet square or less should be packed in a heavy cardboard box with a two inch layer of rigid foam on all sides. Larger tables will need the added support of a wooden crate in addition to the foam. |
